Dental Crowns in Wrocław - Digital Prosthodontics at Olimp Dent

Korony zębowe we Wrocławiu

A severely damaged tooth after root canal treatment, a large cavity that cannot be restored with a filling, or a missing tooth after implant placement – in each of these cases, a dental crown is the solution. At Olimp Dent in Wrocław, we use digital prosthodontics: we scan the teeth with a 3D scanner, design the crown using a CAD/CAM system, and place a restoration that is perfectly adapted to the bite.

What is a dental crown and when is it needed?

A prosthetic crown is a custom-made restoration that covers a tooth (or connects to an implant), restoring its full chewing function, shape, and aesthetics. It is used when a tooth is weakened to the point that a conventional composite filling cannot provide sufficient strength.

Indications for Dental Crown Placement

Types of Dental Crowns at Olimp Dent

All-Ceramic Crowns (e.max, Lithium Disilicate)

The gold standard in aesthetics. Ideal for front teeth and premolars – they transmit light like natural teeth. Durability – 15+ years.

Zirconia Crowns

Maximum mechanical strength. Recommended for molars, multi-unit bridges, and implant-supported crowns. Very good aesthetics – especially in the multi-layer version.

Implant-Supported Crowns

The most physiological solution for replacing a missing tooth. The crown is screw-retained or cemented onto the implant – functionally, it does not differ from a natural tooth.

Temporary Crowns

We make them in a single visit. They protect the prepared tooth between appointments and allow you to assess the aesthetics before the final crown is made.

What Does the Dental Crown Placement Process Look Like Step by Step?

  1. Prosthodontic consultation and diagnostics – X-ray, bite assessment, and photo documentation.

  2. Treatment plan – we select the crown material and shade and discuss the treatment schedule.

  3. Tooth preparation under anesthesia – minimally invasive, preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.

  4. Digital 3D scan of the jaw – no traditional impressions required.

  5. Temporary crown – protects the tooth and maintains aesthetics.

  6. Fabrication of the final crown in a CAD/CAM laboratory (5-10 days).

  7. Crown cementation and bite check.

FAQ - Questions About Dental Crowns

How Long Does a Dental Crown Last?

All-ceramic and zirconia crowns last 15-20 years, often significantly longer. Their lifespan depends on oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and the absence of excessive stress caused by conditions such as bruxism.

No. The entire process – from tooth preparation to crown cementation – is performed under computer-controlled anesthesia.

For front teeth, we recommend e.max ceramic for maximum aesthetics. For molars and in cases of bruxism – zirconia, which offers greater strength. During the consultation, we will select the most suitable material for you.

Sometimes, when a crown is placed on a vital tooth, temporary sensitivity may occur. If the pain persists for more than 2 weeks – contact us, as root canal treatment may be necessary.

Typically, 2 visits are required, 7-14 days apart. Between visits, the tooth is protected with a temporary crown.

The NFZ only covers selected steel or acrylic crowns in specific cases. All-ceramic and zirconia crowns are private treatments – at Olimp Dent, they are also available with 0% installment plans.
